This episode of “The Transmission” takes a look at “Dave,” the 18th episode of the second season of “LOST.” We recap the story in eight minutes, then spend some time discussing it in greater detail. Then, we turn it over to You All Everybody, featuring our brilliant listeners and readers. Then, in the Forward Cabin, we report what we can on the last two weeks of production here on the island.

meg from the uk
Yuppers, somehow Lockdown is reposted on itunes under the new file named Dave.
If you want the Dave podcast, you can get it from the non-enhanced Transmission on iTunes. I sent Ryan and Jen an email to let them know the enhanced one is not the correct one.
D’oh! I linked the previous file in the enhanced podcast feed. It’s been corrected. Sorry for the accidental re-run!

Great recap and forward cabin. Thank you for continuing to move thru Season 2. The quality, professionalism and enthusiasm you give to these podcast streams through loud and clear. On to SOS.
Just wanted to say thanks for you keeping your promise to do these old shows…I have been watching a few myself…”Dave” is good everytime…funny how the 1st time through I never noticed how Dave never ate food and always pointed it out or gave it to Hurley…or I’m sure I’d have caught on that he was imaginary…well…maybe…
Best part of this episode is the ‘crazy / drepressed’ look that Libby gives as Hurley and her walk off…it looks just like she did in the institute… – take care – NuckinFuts –
Ryan, I just left a voicemail feedback for “Dave”. This is the second time. I guess the voicemail system ate the previous one because I called very early (days before you recorded). I hope this one got to you.
Just found your show from iTunes and I am working my way through the back eps. What a great way to revisit season 4 before the start of season 5. I know what a lot of work the show must be but you both are to be commended for an amazing hour! Well worth the investment of time…
Thanks for all you do (and keep it up).
Looking forward to sharing season 5 with you…

hey guys, love the podcast, between you and DharmaDummies, this haitus has been made tolerable, and for that I thank you greatly.
to touch on an episode you reviewed previously – Lockdown – apparently, there’s more on the blast door map that appears under a purple light…?.. you should check it out on lostpedia, donno if you’re aware of it already, but… I rarely hear it mentioned.
oh right, as it’s part of Via Domus, you probably know about it…
OK best, keep up the great work, and thank you again.
Norman, thanks for mention of DharmaDummies. Their latest cast tries to put DI into some order. Also, Ryan, I saw your spoiler video post. Have you been recruited by DI or Widmore?
Daniel Fariday tells Desmond that he is special and that he can change the future, but the last time he changed the future it ended in Charlie’s death. This leads me to believe that Des can change the future, since in a way Des helped the Oceanic 6 be able to leave the island, but also allowed Charles Whitmore to discover it.
Since Desmond is also responsible for the plane crash, will Daniel tell him not to even go on the boat trip around the world? Wouldn’t that solve all the problems since he would never be in the hatch, therefore Oceanic 815 would never crash, so Charlie wouldn’t unjam communications and Whitmore wouldn’t find the island so Charlotte wouldn’t die which seems to ultimately be what Fairaday wants anyway, and he would never be on the island in the first place. Or would that just make things worse since the guy Desmond replaced in the hatch died anyway when any plane, boat or anything would be brought to the island.
Also, do you think we will ever learn anymore about Libby? She gave Des the boat and she watched Hurly when she was in the mental institution. Obviously the LOST writers wanted to not let us forget her as she was referenced in “The Lie” so hopefully they go into a little more depth about her.
I also think that Sun is working for Ben to get Kate to leave, and it was set up in season 4 that Kate would “go back” when she tells the judge during her trial she has no where else to go. I also think Kate still has feelings for Jack since there is that picture of Jack and Aaron in her apartment. Did Jack ever tell her that he was Aaron’s uncle? All he said was that Kate and Aaron where not even related. I am also curious that if Claire’s mom was in a vegetative state how she knew that Claire was on the plane and i found it odd that she was the one to tell Jack Claire was his sister.
I love your podcast and will continue to listen to it throughout season 5.
