We certainly had an… interesting day, with early-morning earthquakes and an island-wide blackout. Fortunately for us, and most of Hawaii, there were no fatalities or serious casualties. Lots of property damage, mostly on the Big Island, and folks will be cleaning up for a while. But for the most part, it’s just one of those crazy things that will fuel small talk for weeks to come. We were offline, but wandering about town, and I was posting some photos from my smartphone, if you’re curious. Mahalo a nui loa for all the kind e-mails and messages.

Ryan and Jen , it’s great to hear you and your family are doing well and are safe. I wonder if they were filming a “lost episode” during the earthquake. Maybe it was too early in the morning.
Thinking of you in Vancouver B.C. , Canada
Steve S.
Glad to hear you are both OK. Hope all the people of Hawaii are safe.
Andy.
Great news to wake up to! Well, need to modify that… it was horrible news to wake up and learn about the earthquake My first thoughts were I hope that Ryan and Jen are okay. This was followed by a wave of relief that you, Jen and your children are fine. . Thanks for taking the time to let us know.
It sounds very frightening, but your pictures look very reassuring – despite no electricity, people were still out and about doing normal activities. That’s always a good sign. People don’t go shopping (calmly) during a panic 😉
Still waiting for news about the Lost team – which was my second thought after reading about the quake. Hopefully the producers, or someone, will make an announcement soon. The more time without confirmation, the more worried I become.
Hmm… it’s probably Desmond’s fault for not pushing the button.
But seriously, I’m glad you’re all okay. ^_^
Glad to know everyone’s ok.
Dear Ryan & Jen,
Where’s Mr. Eko when you need him? Needless to say, I immediately thought of you guys! I saw some of the damage on TV, and wondered how’s the family. Glad to hear you are doing well. Be well and stay safe.
Dan
I just heard about the quake and immediately came here to see how you guys were doing. I was happy to see you had already checked in to let us know you’re ok. I was worried! 🙂
HaHA Dan, good one.
Gald to hear you guys are ok.
